In a world where racism persists, the #STEPUpNorthShore Racism Response campaign, spearheaded by the North Shore Im/migrant Inclusion Partnership (NSIIP) and the North Shore Anti-Racism Network, sought to shine a light on the path toward a more inclusive and anti-racist North Shore.
- 14,000+ online interactions with the #STEPUPNorthShore Campaign
- 2200+ video views on Instagram, making this our most viewed content of the year
- 500 campaign posters and pocket cards were distributed
Powered by the North Shore Racism Response Protocol, the campaign’s website continues to act as a central hub, offering a rich array of multilingual and multimedia resources and information designed to encourage community members to address and combat racism in their everyday lives. It provided individuals with the tools and confidence needed to step up as an active witness during incidents of racism, aiming to foster a more welcoming and supportive environment.
The success of #STEPUpNorthShore has laid a strong foundation, but there remains more work to be done. Future initiatives will continue to build on this momentum, further promoting community inclusion and addressing racism. As we move forward, the campaign’s on-going efforts will highlight the need for continued action and engagement, ensuring that the North Shore remains an equitable, inclusive, and supportive place for all.
