Working Together: Respect and Integrity in Our Relationships

Impact North Shore has always understood that meaningful change happens through relationships.

One of the strongest examples of the value of collaboration is the North Shore Immigrant Inclusion Partnership (NSIIP) which is made up of more than 35 partners from across the community, originally established as the Welcoming Action Committee. This year, the partnership celebrates its 20th anniversary, a remarkable milestone that speaks to the power of sustained collective action. Equally significant is the fact that many of the organizations around the table, spanning sectors such as libraries, recreation, community planning, health, and social services, have remained committee partners throughout the entire twenty-year journey.

Together with the Immigrant Advisory Council, and guided by shared priorities around health and well-being, social belonging, economic inclusion, and civic engagement, we have worked to strengthen the North Shore’s capacity to welcome and support newcomers. Through collaboration, we have advanced equity, mobilized knowledge, challenged assumptions, and helped shape perspectives on inclusion and belonging. We have listened deeply to the experiences of newcomers, responded to emerging needs, and worked together to identify solutions that no single organization could achieve alone.

Over the years, this collective effort has strengthened relationships across sectors and created a more connected and responsive community. It has shown us that lasting progress is not built by one organization acting on its own. It is built through trust, respect, integrity, and a shared commitment to the well-being of our community. Working together has been one of our greatest strengths, and it remains fundamental to building a North Shore where everyone can belong, contribute, and thrive.
