This year’s Annual Report reflects not only what Impact North Shore accomplished, but also the values that have guided us throughout our 35-year history. Since our founding as the North Shore Multicultural Society, we have been driven by a deep sense of responsibility to our community and a commitment to building a North Shore where everyone can live with dignity, belonging, and opportunity. From speaking out against racism in our earliest years to responding to the evolving needs of newcomers today, we have remained steadfast in our belief that stronger communities are built when people uphold one another, work together, and act with courage in the face of inequity.
Over the past year, we have continued to see the power of these values in action. Together with community members, partners, staff, volunteers, and funders, we have supported newcomers and long-time residents alike through programs, partnerships, community engagement, and anti-racism initiatives that strengthen belonging and well-being. We have listened deeply, adapted to emerging needs, and worked collaboratively to address barriers facing our community. Whether fostering inclusion in workplaces, creating opportunities for youth leadership, advancing community dialogue, or supporting people as they build new lives on the North Shore, our work continues to be rooted in the belief that everyone has strengths, contributions, and experiences that enrich our collective future.
As we look ahead, we are mindful that the challenges facing our communities are increasingly complex. Economic uncertainty, housing affordability, polarization, and persistent inequities continue to affect many of the people we serve. Yet our history reminds us that progress is possible when communities come together with purpose and resolve. We are deeply grateful to our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, partners, funders, and community members whose dedication makes this work possible. Together, we will continue to build trust, strengthen belonging, challenge racism and discrimination, and create a North Shore where all people have the opportunity to thrive.
