A strong and connected community is one where everyone’s contributions are recognized, valued, and celebrated. To help foster greater understanding of the role im/migrants play in community life, NSIIP partners collaborated to develop the North Shore Immigration Matters social media campaign.
The campaign highlighted the significant contributions of immigrants to health care, social services, science and technology, local businesses, and the broader economy. Beyond their professional and economic impact, immigrants enrich our communities through their diverse perspectives, cultures, skills, and lived experiences.
Through local stories, facts, and an animated video, the campaign showcased immigrants as health care workers, professionals, entrepreneurs, caregivers, neighbours, and community leaders who help strengthen the North Shore every day. Campaign materials were amplified through the social media channels of NSIIP partners, extending the initiative’s reach across the region.
The campaign reached more than 43,000 people, generated over 5,300 engagements, and received more than 33,600 video views. More importantly, it created opportunities for community members to learn about and appreciate the many ways immigrants contribute to the social, cultural, and economic vitality of the North Shore.
By making these contributions more visible, the campaign helped foster a more informed, welcoming, and inclusive community where immigrants are recognized as an integral part of our shared future.
